Quinta da Cerca lies in the middle of the Dão region - the oldest DOC (DOC = Denominação de Origem Controlada) region of Portugal. To the southeast lay the Sierra de Estrela crowned by the Torre, the highest mountain of continental Portugal (1980m) and to the northwest lay the Serra do Caramulo which protect the Dão valley from the rough climate of the Atlantic.
This results in a climate ideal for cultivation of wine - cool and rainy winters and dry summers. This climate conditions and the granite soil are the basic factors for the growths of excellent grape varieties.
OWNER
Sudhanshu Tyagi had his rst contact in Portugal through a business partner and longtime friend, Joachim Kolmer. He introduced Sudhansu during many visits to Portugal and especially to the Dão region.During one his trips he had the opportunity to visit the Quinta da Cerca which was for sale. He liked it very much and decided to re-establish the wine yard and winery.
Procurator
Joachim as a retired sales and marketing manager who helps his friend and owner Sudhanshu to manage the renovation of the Adega and the establishment of the required procedures for the production and the sales of the wine.
OWNER

Victor joined Quinta in February 2018. Initially he worked mainly for the planting of the wine and took care of the all plants and land of the Quinta. He played later a major part during the renovation of the Adega and the installation of the wine making equipment. Today, Victor manages and does the day to day work at the Quinta and assists the enologist Celia for the wine production.
Enologist
In June 2021, Celia joined the team at Quinta da Cerca as the responsible Enologist. After her studies she worked for a well known Dão wine producer. She also established and runs a laboratory for agricultural lab tests. She is very keen to establish the wines of Quinta da Cerca as premium wines from the Dao region.
Owner of Viveiros João Batista
João is since the beginning in 2016 involved in the re-establishment of the wine yard. His experience in planting wine plants and advising Victor about the requirements for the best care of the plants is one of the key factors for the good yield of the plantation. During harvest time he and his worker are essential for the timely harvest of the grapes.
